Customer
Local tour agency Friend in Iceland and Icelandic Europcar franchisee Holdur have teamed up to create the ultimate Icelandic self-drive tour guide app.
Challenge
Provide a complete guidance experience for Holdur and Friend in Iceland’s customers to be able to explore Iceland, whilst simultaneously providing a communication channel and additional revenue streams.
Solution
The app uses a white-label template app and the Locatify Creator CMS to enable maps, points of interest, GPS tour guides, safety and travel information, local weather, notifications and bookable activities (via API integration).
Testimonial
“My app from Locatify helps my car-rental customers to find self-driving tours and places of interest. It also helps my business to receive commissions for the services offered in the app, and it’s easy to manage the information.“
– Gunnar Sigurdsson, CEO, Friend In Iceland
Automatic Tourist Guide App
The app uses the latest Automatic Tourist Guide app template which features a modern design with customisable home page background image and card style buttons for linking to the main app features. The app features, such as: GPS tour guides, bookable activities, interactive map, points of interest and additional safety, weather and vehicle info – is all managed via the Creator CMS.
Self-Drive Tour Guides
The guided self-drive tours use GPS to trigger media content on location and provide navigation to each point of interest. Customers can connect their device to the cars stereo system and the tours require internet connection once they have been downloaded. The app features popular routes such as The Golden Circle, Snæfellsnes, South Coast, Ring Road, Reykjanes Peninsular and more. The tour content is professionally produced and uploaded to the Creator CMS.
