The COVID-19 pandemic further accelerated the need for self-guided exploration formats that are engaging, safe, and easy to manage.
Key challenges included:

Solution
To address these challenges, Gamescape developed EscapeCity, an interactive outdoor escape room app built with Locatify’s Branded Outdoor Adventure App technology.
The application combines GPS-based navigation, gamified storytelling, and interactive media to turn city exploration into a memorable experience.
Main features include:
- Location- or map-based challenges (GPS or indoor)
- Quizzes, puzzles, and creative tasks (photo/video, memory games)
- Customizable templates for promoting local attractions
- Integration of historical facts, audio narration, and visual storytelling
- Gamification tools such as scoring and leaderboards
The solution was implemented in two projects:
- “On the Trail of Our Airport’s History” – celebrating Balice Airport’s 60th anniversary
- “The Mystery of the Lost Painting” – promoting educational discovery in museums

Gamified Learning
