The Leif Eiriksson Center in Iceland is a captivating destination for visitors of all ages that showcases the remarkable voyages of Eric the Red and his son Leif the Lucky. The center’s new exhibition features works from ten renowned Icelandic visual artists, bringing to life the stories of discovery in Greenland, Canada, and the US, centuries before Columbus.

Objective

To replace the outdated MP3 player system with a modern, user-friendly audio guide solution that aligns with visitors’ smartphones, providing better audio quality and reducing maintenance efforts.

Solution

In the spring of 2023, The Leif Eiriksson Center implemented our audio guide web app. This self-service solution allows visitors to access audio guides directly on their smartphones by scanning a QR code, eliminating the need for app store installations. The audio guide leads visitors through the exhibition, providing rich narratives and historical context.

Testimonial

“We implemented the Web App in the spring of 2023 in The Leif Eiriksson Center when we decided to discontinue renewing our MP3 player system, to service our customers with their own smartphones, which usually have better headphones than ours and that do not require maintenance on our behalf. This solution is really simple to use and has an easy backend, and we feel confident bringing it to Eiriksstadir – Open Museum also, for easy access to ‘edutainment’ for our customers.”
