Locatify is proud to release the indoor guidance and learning system for the interactive Johnathan Dodd Technology Training Center. The training center is part of the Charles Lea Center which provides support services that enhance the quality of life for approximately 1,600 children and adults in Spartanburg County with intellectual disabilities and/or chronic medical conditions.
Locatify worked closely with the team from SimplyHome to craft and deliver the experience. SimplyHome designs and installs customisable assistive technology systems that support the independence of people ageing in place or living with disabilities.
Easy Tour iPad app
Locatify created an iOS app and SimplyHome installed a network of low energy iBeacons throughout the centre. Guests and staff are provided with iPads with the preinstalled Easy Tour app which shows a floor plan of the building with learning areas.
Guidance & Learning
The app is managed via the Locatify Creator CMS. The floor map image is uploaded to the CMS and the learning areas (stations) are added to the map. Each station is assigned a BLE Beacon which opens the station content when the iPad comes within range of the beacon. Each station features multimedia learning content or a link to open a learning module within the app.
Locatify Creator CMS®
The app content is controlled via the Locatify Creator CMS. The floor map is uploaded to the CMS with scale set and the learning areas (stations or zones) added to the floor map. Each station is assigned a BLE Beacon and a radius is set for triggering that specific station content when the iPad comes within range of the beacon. Each station features multimedia learning content or a link to open a learning module within the app.
