We managed to implement a successful “Turf Hunt” in June with 150 students in middle school (Lemshaga Akademi in Stockholm). We are very happy and have some feedback to give you…We made a video from the city walk, you can look at it here: From Lemshaga Akademi or here.
It is a tradition to end the spring semester for students at the high school by going on a tour in some part of Stockholm and compete against each other in teams by answering questions. This has been relatively “analog” for the last years, much like an urban scavenger hunt. This year we took the opportunity to try something new: an app called “Turf Hunt”. Teachers wrote the questions in advance via the website www.locatify.com and placed those over a map of the Old Town which was the “game plan”. Students were then navigated to the questions and answered them to the best of their ability.
Here’s a video that sums up the day and the experience to run the “City tour 2.0″. Congratulations to the winning team!
